Peter and Paul Fortress - St. Petersburg, Russia

If you are a fan of the Amazing Race, this was tonight's pit stop.  Peter and Paul Fortress.  The main point of interest is the Peter and Paul Cathedral inside the fortress.  It is here that Russian emperors are buried including Peter the Great. Later this week, I hope to post pictures from an evening river cruise where you will see more pictures of the outside of the Fortress as well as a number of the other locations already highlighted here.

The Hermitage- St. Petersburg, Russia

 The Hermitage in St. Petersburg is one of the world's oldest museums and is known to have the largest collection of paintings of all museums.  Also known as the State Museum, it is an incredible museum.  Here are some of my favorite shots that highlight the beauty of the buildings themselves.  Some of the featured pieces of art will be in a subsequent post.
